A freshman set an Oklahoma State cross-country record Saturday.
The Cowboy and Cowgirl cross-country teams competed at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Madison, Wisconsin. Isai Rodriguez, a freshman, placed fourth, the highest any Cowboy has finished at the national championships. Rodriguez raced as one of 255 runners and reached the finish line in 29 minutes and 10.5 seconds.
Ashenafi Hatte, who placed 27th, and Rodriguez garnered All-American honors.
The Cowboys finished 13th at the national championships, and the Cowgirls claimed 19th place.
Sinclaire Johnson placed 48th with a time of 20:43.1, leading the Cowgirls.
