Marcus Watson, a freshman guard on the Oklahoma State men's basketball team, is not facing criminal charges after a woman filed a protective order against him for alleged rape.
Marshall Scott of Pistols Firing Blog broke this news Friday afternoon. Scott said someone in the Payne County District Attorney's Office told PFB that the office determined not to pursue criminal charges after examining the Oklahoma State University Police Department's investigation.
Jacob Unruh of The Oklahoman also reported the news and included a quote from assistant district attorney Debra Vincent, who said the office concluded that "the evidence did not meet the necessary burden of proof" for criminal charges.
