Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich’s name was mentioned in a report about Central Michigan’s head coaching vacancy.
FootballScoop‘s Doug Samuels is reporting there are “whispers” of Yurcich getting consideration for the Chippewas job with a bevy of other names. Recently-fired Oklahoma defensive coordinator Mike Stoops highlights the short list Samuels presents that also includes Ferris State (D-II) coach Tony Annese, OU offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh, Michigan State offensive line coach Mark Staten and Kentucky defensive coordinator Matt House.
CMU went 1-11 last season (losing to Kansas) with the Chippewas’ only victory coming against Maine, leading to John Bonamego’s firing.
