Report: Larry Williams Will Likely Receive Sixth Year of Eligibility

Oklahoma State’s rebuilding offensive line may be in for a huge boost in terms of depth and experience. Larry Williams, who began the last two seasons as OSU’s starting right guard, may receive an additional sixth year of eligibility.

According to a report by GoPokes.com, a recent NCAA rule change would allow Williams to qualify for the additional year because he appeared in just three games before going down with injury.

Here’s more clarification on the rule change per Mark Cooper of the Tulsa World.

The new NCAA rule allows for a waiver to the five-year rule to be approved if a student-athlete redshirted his or her freshman year because of a school’s decision, then lost another season for reasons outside of his or her control.
