Report: FBI agent in NCAA probe accused of misconduct

An FBI agent who worked undercover as part of a federal investigation into college basketball corruption was charged with misconduct for misuse of government money during the probe, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

In September, Oklahoma State associate head coach Lamont Evans was among four coaches charged after an investigation into fraud and corruption throughout college basketball. Evans reportedly accepted at least $22,000 in bribes money to steer athletes toward certain financial advisers. He was subsequently terminated.

The charges against the FBI agent, who reportedly spent government money on gambling, food and beverages during the probe, could affect his ability to serve as a witness for the prosecution as the national case moves forward.
