Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but after a slow, sloppy start...

The first 9 minutes averaged a turnover per minute, but fortunately, most of those were for the Wildcats. Unfortunately, it felt like a sloppy game regardless and it bled into a slow shooting start as well, to go with an early rebounding edge for Kansas State. Rondel Walker scored the first 5 points and seemingly created every turnover, while fans wait with bated breath for Cade Cunningham to start hot.

An early rebounding advantage kept Kansas State in the game, but threes from Bryce Williams and Ferron Flavors stretched the lead to eight at 22-14 before Bruce Weber called a timeout to force the under-eight break.
