For the second game in a row, rebounding played a huge role in Oklahoma State’s victory.
The Cowgirl basketball team crashed the boards all afternoon in its 76-51 blowout of University of California, Riverside. OSU outrebounded the Highlanders by 13 on Sunday in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Jim Littell, OSU’s coach, has stressed the importance of winning the ball after missed shots.
“I’ve always told our group that rebounding is the most important facet of the game,” Littell said. “It’s just about having a motor and wanting to go get it.”
Half of OSU’s 46 rebounds were offensive, giving the Cowgirls 12 more chances at the basket than the Highlanders.
