The University of Tulsa women’s basketball team might have played its best quarter of the season in its first quarter of the season.
The Golden Hurricane came out and punched the Oklahoma State Cowgirl basketball team in the mouth on Sunday afternoon in a 67-62 Golden Hurricane win. Tulsa shot 62.5% from the field and 57.1% from the 3-point line, scoring 26 points in the first quarter, a remarkable number for its first game.
OSU coach Jim Littell credited Tulsa’s players for their excellent offensive play, but also chalked up the poor start to OSU’s defense.
“I thought Tulsa played well but you can’t guard somebody and hope that they are going to miss,” Littell said.
