Thomas Dziagwa plans to read for half an hour each night in 2019.
It’s not a New Year’s resolution he can accomplish on the basketball court, but if he needs a new literary selection, he can visit his coach’s office.
Mike Boynton, the Oklahoma State men’s basketball coach, is reading when he isn’t intently analyzing film. He loaned a book to Dziagwa that Chris Herren, a former Boston Celtics player who battled drug addiction, wrote about his life. Next, Dziagwa intends to start a different kind of book: Paulo Coehlo’s “The Alchemist,” a fictional novel centering on the theme of destiny.
