Oklahoma State sophomore and Sand Springs native Daton Fix will compete at the United World Wrestling World Championships with the U.S. Senior level men’s team beginning Thursday in Nursultan, Kazakhstan.
Fix will be wrestling at the 57-kilogram level, a spot he earned with a best-of-three win over Thomas Gilman, a former World Championship silver medalist in June. Fix dominated the weight class at the Pan American Games last month, outscoring his opponents by a total of 25-1.
This isn’t Fix’s first World Championship appearance. He won gold in 2017 at the Junior Worlds before earning a third-place finish in 2018.
