OSU wrestling takes down Minnesota in dual

Oklahoma State defeated Minnesota, 21-12, on Sunday at Gallagher-Iba Arena to win its second wrestling dual of the season and its first against a ranked opponent.

The seventh-ranked Cowboys (2-1; 0-0) captured six of 10 bouts from the 12th-ranked Golden Gophers. The win marked OSU coach John Smith’s 428th dual victory, making him the fifth all-time winningest coach in NCAA Division I wrestling.

The Cowboys got a 3-2 win from no. 4 Nick Piccininni to open the dual and a fall from freshman 133-pounder Reece Witcraft.

OSU's Boo Lewallen won an 8-3 decsion over Brayton Lee in the 149-pound match.
