OSU wrestling: Southern Scuffle could be a crossroads for the Cowboy lineup

STILLWATER — Two weeks ago, as he analyzed the ups and downs of his team’s Bedlam victory, Oklahoma State wrestling coach John Smith pointed to this week as a potential crossroads for his team.

OSU begins action at the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Wednesday, with seven Cowboy wrestlers earning top-eight seeds in the two-day tournament.

For the Cowboys, the wrestlers who are on the mat this week might be more important than what they do in the event.

Sophomore Kaden Gfeller was granted the top seed at 141 pounds this week, though he has yet to appear in a match.
