On Wednesday, the NCAA wrestling tournament brackets were released. Here are my five thoughts on how the seeding and brackets played out.
1. Fix and White’s Brackets Went OSU’s Way
At heavyweight the Cowboys got the 1 seed. This places Derek White opposite his lone loss on the season Gable Steveson, and Big Ten champion Anthony Cassar, who White beat at the Southern Scuffle earlier this season. That’s incredibly big for Derek White and the Cowboys. There are guys that can test him on his way to the final, but he’ll be as heavily favored as anyone to at least make the final.
