STILLWATER — Oklahoma State wrestler Chandler Rogers stepped onto the mat looking to reignite a fire.
The heat from the second-ranked Cowboys’ strong start in the first three matches had been erased by No. 3 Iowa in the next three.
All tied up with four matches left, Rogers knew he needed a win at 174 pounds.
The Stillwater native needed a win, but he wanted a pin.
When Rogers put Iowa’s Mitch Bowman on his back and the final whistle blew, the Cowboys were blazing again, taking the final four matches for a 27-12 win over Iowa in the regular-season finale in front of a wild sellout crowd Sunday afternoon at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
