Comanche senior Konner Doucet is the state winner of the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame announced Thursday.
One male wrestler from each state is given the award. The selections are based on athletic and academic achievements and community involvement.
Doucet, an Oklahoma State signee, had a dominant career at Class 3A Comanche, which is 40 miles southeast of Lawton. The 220-pounder is one of 40 wrestlers in state history to win four titles.
Doucet wasn’t the only OSU signee to earn the honor. Alexander Yokubaitis, another four-time state champion, claimed the Louisiana award.
