Boo Lewallen was officially granted a sixth year of eligibility to wrestle according to Oklahoma State’s roster bio of the former All-American.
Lewallen, who has had an injury-riddled career, suffered two major shoulder injuries last season and was unable to complete a full match for the Cowboys. The first dual of the season he went down with a shoulder injury vs. South Dakota State. His first match back after South Dakota State was against Iowa State where he suffered a similar shoulder injury. His injury in the Iowa State dual ended his season.
Lewallen’s initial request for a medical redshirt was denied as the rule state’s a wrestler that competes in the second half of the season will not be granted a medical redshirt.
