STILLWATER — Over the final 25 minutes last Saturday, Oklahoma State women's basketball coach Jim Littell watched his team outplay a top-20 Iowa State program.
But the 15 minutes that preceded were so damaging that the Cowgirls were never going to climb out of the 31-point hole they dug themselves into.
Days earlier, OSU fell behind early in an eventual loss to a middle-of-the-road Kansas State team.
The slow starts eat at Littell. Half-jokingly, he says his team has “that disease called spot,” where the Cowgirls have to spot an opponent a big advantage before they get going.
