The No. 1 player in the state of Oklahoma will play his college basketball north of the state he grew up in. Four-star recruit David Castillo, the top player in the state in the 2024 cycle from Bartlesville, Oklahoma, announced on Tuesday in a long-anticipated commitment that he will play for Jerome Tang at Kansas State. Castillo chose the Wildcats over OSU, Kansas, Arkansas, Florida and others.
Castillo visited OSU on an official basis last fall more than a year after Mike Boynton and his staff made him his first power program scholarship offer. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound combo guard elicited national attention this winter and spring, though, with Kansas State, Kansas and others entering the race to steal attention from him.
