The Oklahoma State softball team improved to 7-3 on the season after winning three straight games to close the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational over the weekend.
Here are three takeaways from No. 20 OSU’s weekend in Florida, and what’s ahead:
Bats erupt late
OSU dropped back-to-back games to No. 8 LSU and Notre Dame to open the event, getting one run on eight hits from the offense.
The Cowgirls led 1-0 in the fifth when LSU got an RBI single and a two-run home run to nail down a 3-1 win.
After a 6-0 loss to Notre Dame, OSU’s bats came to life with 25 runs in three games against Utah, Cal and Hofstra.
