OKLAHOMA CITY - With two strikes against her in the second inning, Vanessa Shippy knew she had to make contact with any pitch close to the strike zone.
She got a pitch up in the zone and roped it to center field, sending it sailing over the defender’s head despite the strong north wind blowing straight in from the outfield. The hit bounced off the wall and brought in two Cowgirls to score.
That opened the floodgates for the Oklahoma State softball team's offense as it run-ruled Pacific 11-1 in five innings in the last game of the OSU Hall of Fame Classic on Sunday at OGE Field in USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
