OSU Softball: Cowgirls look to NCAA champion for coach

Oklahoma State officials waited a while to name a new softball coach.

They were waiting on a champion.

OSU named Kenny Gajewski, who just finished his third season as an assistant for NCAA champion Florida, as the program's seventh coach on Saturday in a statement released by the university. Gajewski (pronounced `GUY'-ehh-ski'), a former Oklahoma University baseball player, replaces Rich Wieligman, who was fired May 11 after nine seasons.

"I'm excited for our young women who will get to play for Kenny and his staff," OSU athletic director Mike Holder said in the statement, "and I'm excited about the future of our program.
