Not very competitive. Those were the words that came to mind when OSU softball coach Kenny Gajewski reflected on his team's performance in Norman.
It was always going to be an uphill battle when the No. 12 Cowgirls (37-11, 13-2 Big 12) faced No. 1 Oklahoma and it’s ace in the circle, Giselle Juarez. That hill ended up being too tall to climb on Saturday as OSU’s inability to make consistent contact came back to bite it at the end of seven innings, losing 3-0.
Juarez notched 13 strikeouts for OU (42-5, 15-0 Big 12), with that one hit coming from pinch-hitter Sydney Springfield to lead off the sixth inning.
