Thirty-one
That is how many innings Carrie Eberle had gone without giving up an earned run coming into Friday.
As the Oklahoma State softball team swept the University of Illinois at Chicago and Louisville, 8-0 and 3-0 respectively, she added to that mark.
Eberle threw seven dominant innings, totalling three strikeouts, two hits and most importantly, zero runs.
While OSU (10-5) won its two games in relatively different ways that was the one constant — the Cowgirls refused to give up runs.
“It’s tough to keep teams down, and we’ve done that a lot,” OSU coach Kenny Gajewski said.
