STILLWATER — In the hours after he and his team learned that the NCAA had canceled its winter and spring championships, Oklahoma State softball coach Kenny Gajewski began to gather opinions from his players.
He was preparing for the what-ifs that might come as everyone in sports tried to process the unexpected news on Thursday.
One of Gajewski’s questions was this: If the Women’s College World Series is off the table, would the team want to eventually resume the season and pursue a potential Big 12 Tournament title?
“My whole team was like, ‘We don’t want to play if we’re not gonna get a chance to play for a championship,’” Gajewski told The Oklahoman on Friday.
