Oklahoma State football is losing a quarterback.
ESPN's Pete Thamel reported Monday on X that Maealiuaki Smith is entering the transfer portal after one season in Stillwater. Smith was one of four Cowboys quarterbacks competing for the starting job and has four years of eligibility remaining.
In his one season at OSU, Smith started the Cowboys' last two games of 2024 against Texas Tech and Colorado. He went a combined 44 of 74 passing for 489 yards and two touchdowns with four interceptions, and won Big 12 Newcomer of the Week after passing for 316 yards and totaling three touchdowns against the Red Raiders.
