Oklahoma State’s whirlwind day culminated Monday evening with an official statement from its president, Burns Hargis, who condemned any “insensitive behavior” by anyone at Oklahoma State.
“I hear and respect the concerns expressed by our Black student-athletes,” he said. “This is a time for unity of purpose to confront racial inequalities and injustice. We will not tolerate insensitive behavior by anyone at Oklahoma State.”
Hargis’ comments come on the heels of what turned out to be an explosive day on the job. After a photo of Gundy donning an “OAN” T-shirt went viral, OSU star running back Chuba Hubbard took to social media to condemn the shirt, saying it was “completely insensitive to everything going on in society, and it’s unacceptable.
