For the first time since the 2014 season, the College Football Playoff Rankings, which were released for the first time this season on Tuesday night, did not include Oklahoma State.
A refresher: That was the year Daxx Garman was getting sacked more than he was completing passes, the same year Tyreek returned the re-punt at OU, and the same magical season-end that saw Mason Rudolph self-burn his redshirt to play against Baylor, OU and in the Cactus Bowl against Washington.
OSU went 7-6 that season.
Following that less-than-stellar campaign, OSU had found itself somewhere amidst the CFP rankings in every iteration in 2015, 2016 and 2017, one of only five teams along with Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and OU to stake claim to it.
