OSU leads the way in Big 12 academic award

Fourteen Oklahoma State athletes received the Dr. Gerald Lage Achievement Award, the Big 12's highest academic honor, the conference announced Tuesday.

OSU tied with Kansas and Oklahoma for the most recipients of this award, which was created in memory of Lage, the OSU faculty athletics representative from 1983 until 2007.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have lettered at least once in their careers while being enrolled at the school for at least one academic year and should have 100 hours of earned credit with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.80.

Among the recipients for OSU were seven track-and-field athletes, two football players, two softball players, two soccer players and one equestrian athlete.
