LAWRENCE, Kan. — As Mike Gundy fielded questions during Big 12 Media Days in July, the sound of Darrion Daniels singing Boyz II Men served as background noise.
It exemplified the kind of energy Oklahoma State hoped Daniels could provide as a senior defensive tackle. Those plans took a hit earlier this week when Daniels suffered a finger injury that will end his season, Gundy revealed Saturday after the Cowboys' 48-28 victory over Kansas.
“He'll definitely be around the team as a whole, but on the field, it's a whole other thing without having him out there, keeping everyone up, being loud when everyone is quiet,” defensive end Jordan Brailford said.
