Oklahoma State is “in talks” to add a women’s wrestling program, coach John Smith said Wednesday.
“Women’s wrestling has a real opportunity of growth,” Smith said. “It’s definitely on the radar. We’re working through the process of seeing if it’s something the Oklahoma State Athletic Department wants to add.”
Adding any new sports in the foreseeable future is not going to happen given the athletic department’s financial hurdles COVID-19 created.

When OSU is ready though, women’s wrestling will be at the forefront of conversations about new sports.
