Oklahoma State's men's golf team opened play at the NCAA Columbus Regional on Monday with a 3-under-par team score of 281 and is the first round leader at Ohio State's Scarlet Course.
The top-ranked Cowboys were one of just two teams to break par during the first day of action at the par-71, 7,364-yard layout.
UNLV posted a 282 during its opening round, while Illinois finished the day at even-par 284. Rounding out the top five were Northwestern at 292 and Penn State at 293.
Michael Feagles of Illinois carded a 3-under 68 to lead the individual race by one shot over UNLV's Garrick Higgo.
