OSU freshmen don’t shy from spotlight in loss to TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas — Not more than an hour from home, a pair of Prestonwood Academy Lions shined under the Lupton Stadium lights.

Right-hander Jonathan Heasley and second baseman Ryan Cash, high school teammates in Plano, played key roles for the Oklahoma State baseball team, as did many other freshmen, in the Cowboys’ 6-5 loss to TCU on Saturday night.

Heasley started on the mound, striking out four and allowing five runs, though only two earned, in five innings. With a crowd of 5,502 on hand, Heasley was in a new environment.

I’ve never really pitched in an atmosphere like this before,” Heasley said.
