STILLWATER — Oklahoma State receiver Tylan Wallace made his share of highlight-reel plays last season.
But one particular play made a different kind of highlight reel.
A few times last season, Wallace laid out defenders who were chasing OSU ball carriers with what is typically termed a crackback block.
Defenders are pursuing the ball in one direction, and the blocker comes back in the opposite direction with a decleating block, launching his body into the unsuspecting defender.
A couple of times, Wallace’s crackback blocks were reviewed for potential targeting penalties, and in both instances, he was cleared of any foul.
