Oklahoma State hoped that it had a player of some sort in Todd Mays, who was added from junior college late last October.
A running back. A receiver. A quarterback. He was billed as an “athlete” coming out of East Mississippi Junior College, where he played all three positions.
The Cowboys, then in need of able running backs, hoped he might help bolster options in the backfield.
That hope has sailed – back to Mississippi.
Monday, Cowboys coach Mike Gundy revealed that Mays had left the team and gone home.
“We were hoping he’d fit in,” Gundy said.
