WASHINGTON INFLUENCE

TCU had dominated the first quarter, yet still led only 6-0. It took the Cowboys but 30 seconds to seize the lead. Mason Rudolph, with time in a safe pocket, waited for James Washington to do his thing – beat defensive backs – and heaved a pass the OSU wideout turned into an 86-yard touchdown catch. It was a jolt the Cowboys needed. But it was also a jolt for the Horned Frogs, for the better. After the Washington deep ball, TCU opted for deep safety help, forcing the Cowboys to settle for more medium-range throws and taking away OSU's signature home run balls.
