STILLWATER — Saturday, Taylor Cornelius will serve as Oklahoma State's starting quarterback against the team he grew up rooting for. There's an alternate timeline where he could be playing the same position, or another, for that program, instead.
Growing up in Bushland, Texas, two hours north of Lubbock, Cornelius was raised in the shadow of Texas Tech. He remembers being enamored with the quarterback-receiver duo of Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree, the last Red Raider pairing to beat OSU as the Cowboys enter their 6 p.m. Big 12 opener with a nine-game winning streak in the series.
“It was right down the road,” Cornelius said.
