NEW ORLEANS — OSU football has a long way to go.
Seems a strange thing to say from the Superdome. A strange thing to say about a program that just competed in the Sugar Bowl. The Cowboys already have come a long way.
But some time Friday night — maybe when Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly started passing the Cowboys silly, or when the OSU running game went nowhere again, or when the Rebel rousers started chanting “S-E-C! S-E-C!” in unison, making all right-thinking Americans want to go get lost on Bourbon Street — it became clear that OSU still has a long way to go to get back to that halcyon level of 2011, when the Cowboys were as good as any team in the country.
