Oklahoma State's Taylor Cornelius is among the top 30 candidates for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, given annually to the top senior or fourth-year junior quarterback.
To be eligible, a player must have graduated or be on track to graduate with his class. The award recognizes not only on-field accomplishments, but also character, citizenship, scholastic achievement and leadership qualities. Cornelius, a redshirt senior from Bushland, Texas, earned Academic All-Big 12 second team honors in 2017.
A former walk-on, Cornelius ranks fifth nationally with 1,541 passing yards and has posted a 12-to-5 touchdown-to-interception ratio in leading OSU to a 4-1 start.
