OSU football: Quarterback Mason Rudolph quick to credit Cowboys' defense

STILLWATER — Mason Rudolph didn't put up career-high passing numbers in Oklahoma State's 69-14 victory against UTSA on Saturday.

But the Cowboy quarterback played what could have been his most efficient game this season. Rudolph was 17-of-23 passing with 280 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. After the game, he spoke with the media.

Q: How important was the fast start today?

A: It always helps when you get a defensive stop like that. Devante Averette did an awesome job, running with the ball and picking it up for a scoop-and-score. That kind of catapulted us into it.
