The Cowboys suffered a blow Tuesday when Ryan Simmons revealed that he’s suffered torn knee ligaments that would require surgery and end his season.
Simmons is one of the team’s unquestioned leaders, and as the middle linebacker, operated as the brain stem of the defense. He’d started 31 straight games.
Now the job flips to Chad Whitener, a Cal transfer whom I wrote about here today.
