STILLWATER — In his rushed return from summer ankle surgery, Jordan Burton discovered an unusual foe operating as a roadblock.
“Chick-fil-A was my biggest enemy,” Burton said.
Huh?
Burton, his ankle still balky from an injury suffered last season, despite taking the entire spring away from the game, finally opted for surgery in the summer. With only the month of July to recover and get ready for the grind of preseason camp, the Cowboys linebacker sought to help himself.
One idea: go vegetarian.
And he's remained vegetarian.
“After the ankle surgery, I needed something to give me an edge to help me get back in shape quicker,” Burton said.
