OSU football: Mike Gundy stands by targeting rule after ejections

Oklahoma State lost a pair of cornerbacks to targeting ejections on similar plays Monday night.

Rodarius Williams was ejected in the first quarter and Kemah Siverand in the fourth for making contact to the helmet of defenseless receivers.

Asked if the purpose of the targeting rule had “gone too far,” Gundy stood behind the rule.

“I think the correct calls were made based on the rules,” Gundy said. “We know what the rule is, and our guys knew we had to play physical, so we have to do a better job of coaching to stay below the chest.
