STILLWATER -- Pointing to Texas A&M’s losses against some of the nation’s top teams, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy has immense respect for the Cowboys’ Texas Bowl opponent.
“I think they’re the best 7-5 team in the history of the NCAA, in my opinion,” Gundy said. “They’re definitely a top-20 team. I haven’t started watching tape on ‘em. I’ve watched ‘em on TV a couple times. I know they’re very athletic.”
And Gundy added his feelings for A&M quarterback Kellen Mond, while also making an educated guess about who will win the Heisman Trophy.
“He’s the third-rated quarterback in the SEC, only behind the Heisman Trophy winner (LSU’s Joe Burrow) and Tua (Tagovailoa of Alabama),” Gundy said.
