STILLWATER — Oklahoma State kicker Matt Ammendola is one of 20 national semifinalists for the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award, it was announced Thursday.
Ammendola is one of nine players in college football who has made more than 10 field goals while converting at a 90 percent rate or better, as he is 14-for-15 on field goal attempts this season. Going back to last season, he has made 17 of his past 18 field goal attempts.
It is the first time that Ammendola, a senior who began his career as a walk-on, has been named a semifinalist for the award.
