STILLWATER — Oklahoma State linebacker Devante Averette watched Seth Jacobs deal with pain nearly every day for the past two years.
The two would watch film together at each other's house, despite the pain of Jacobs' ailments and the fact that Averette was battling for playing time.
Jacobs retired in the offseason due to the various injuries. That leaves Averette as a front-runner to step into Jacobs' spot, and he has a new outlook on life following the change of circumstances.
The Detroit native spoke recently with The Oklahoman about Jacobs, a 5-year-old son and more.
