HOUSTON — Oklahoma State will be without one of its best defensive players in the Texas Bowl, coach Mike Gundy said Thursday.
Safety Kolby Harvell-Peel, who grew up not far from the Texas A&M campus in College Station, will not play when the No. 25 Cowboys face the Aggies at 5:45 p.m. Friday at NRG Stadium.
Harvell-Peel, a true sophomore, was voted by the team as the defensive MVP. He was a first-team All-Big 12 defensive back by the coaches and the Associated Press.
Harvell-Peel suffered a knee injury on the final play of the Cowboys’ loss to Oklahoma Nov.
