Oklahoma State senior defensive backs Malik Kearse and Adrian Baker will be intently watching the path of Hurricane Irma as it nears the Florida coast.
Both players' families chose to board up the windows and remain in their homes in the Miami area, rather than evacuate.
“They're ready and set,” Kearse said. “I've talked to them every day. I just want to make sure they're safe and everything's good.”
Kearse's son, Malakai, who will celebrate his first birthday later this month, lives with family in Miami as well.
“I've been in a hurricane before,” Kearse said.
