STILLWATER — In new Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles' 4-2-5 system, Kenneth Edison-McGruder is the man on the move.
In a switch that better suits his strengths and abilities, Edison-McGruder is back at safety for his senior season after two years as a linebacker.
“I couldn't wait to get back to safety,” Edison-McGruder said during OSU's media day Saturday. “When coach (Dan Hammerschmidt) told me the change was being made, I loved it.”
Even though OSU's linebacker depth has taken an early hit — coach Mike Gundy revealed redshirt junior Patrick Macon suffered a foot injury that will keep him out for “a couple, three months” — that shouldn't affect Edison-McGruder's status.
