Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy was pleased to hear that his proposed donation and his assistance in planning for improved security at Stillwater schools was passed by the board of education at its regular meeting on Tuesday night.
Gundy appeared at the Stillwater board's March meeting, offering personal funding to improve the security at all of the schools in the district.
As a result, Stillwater schools will each have a uniformed, armed member of law enforcement for the remainder of the school year.
The cost, which Gundy's donation will cover, is $1,166.55 per day, meaning the total of the donation could near $40,000 once schools return to session following the current teacher walkout.
