STILLWATER — Apparently Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard provides a calming effect with more than just his touchdown runs.
Multiple players — including quarterback Spencer Sanders and offensive lineman Bryce Bray, each a redshirt freshman making his first college start — credited Hubbard for his calming words before last Friday’s 52-36 win at Oregon State.
It comes from a genuine place. Hubbard was the redshirt freshman a year ago, giving himself the same pep talks.
“I felt like last year, I was kinda trying to do that to myself a little bit,” Hubbard said. “This year, I’ve been in these positions and these guys are probably like how I was last year.
